Blake Lively

A long-time advocate of the side part, Blake’s signature honey blonde locks have always looked so irresistibly glamorous worn this way. She’s been rocking the look since her Gossip Girl days, both on and off the red carpet, only very rarely parting her tresses down the middle.
Blake has never worried about whether the look is ‘in’ or not and why would she when her hair always looks this good? If it’s good enough for Blake, it’s good enough for us!
Zendaya

Lobs happen to be one of the summer’s most sought-after hairstyles, and Zendaya just made the look even more enviable with this sleek, side-part. Paired with smooth, Hollywood waves and curled-out ends it’s the ultimate event hairstyle for summer evening plans.
Kirsten Dunst

Leave it to Kirsten Dunst to pull this timeless straight style out of the bag. It’s everything we want in a sleek, side-parted do and it works perfectly with her blunt-cut ends.
Not to say it won’t work with tapered haircuts with layers too – because it definitely will!
Ana De Armas

Let’s be honest, Ana De Armas’ hair always looks flawless. However, her soft curls and voluminous blowout with this gentle side parting might just be our favorite.
The best part? This style will work on every haircut from lip-length bobs to long flowing locks.
Laura Harrier

We’re just going to say it – Laura Harrier’s deep side part might just be our favorite evening hairstyle to date. This will work on shorter hair too but is a perfect way to showcase long, gently curled tresses like hers.
Saoirse Ronan

Don’t get us wrong, we adore long and short hair in a defined side part. But Saoirse’s effortless flipped-over side part with her blunt-cut bob and sun-kissed blonde color has us thinking this might just be the hottest hairstyle of the summer.
This look is easy to style and works seamlessly from day to night.
Brie Larson

Full of volume and the perfect mix of formal and laid-back, Brie’s side-parted style shows what a great blowout set in rollers can do. This look might take a little practice but it’s well worth it for the results.
Gemma Chan

Proving that side parts work not only with long and short hair but with mid-length tresses too, Gemma Chan’s chic softly tousled curls look all the more beautiful in the subtle side parting.
Expert Tips On How To Style A Side Part
No matter the side part you want to create, these key tips will help yours shine every time.
Create Volume
Whether you’re wearing yours for a special event or just day-to-day, side parts look great with a little added volume. Opt for a volumizing shampoo and conditioner and treat your roots with a little volumizing spray before you get started on styling.
If you find yours starts to fall flat as the day goes on, you’re not alone, side parts tend to do that. Try a quick spritz of volumizing spray or dry shampoo. This will soon lift your hair at the roots and bring life back to your side part.
Use A Comb… Or Don’t
When it comes to side parts, there are no hard and fast rules. Of course, you can create a super straight line with tons of volume for a red-carpet-inspired look.
You can also flip your hair over without even looking in a mirror. This off-duty style looks equally amazing. Decide on the type of side parting you want then go from there.
For special occasions and glamorous side-part styles, we recommend using a tail comb to part the hair. Make the part as deep or as shallow as you want, we think the center of the eye on your preferred side is always a helpful guide.
Use the bristle side of the comb to brush the hair back and create the desired line, then use the tail end to neaten it up and get each strand of hair where it needs to be.
For an everyday side part with a less formal finish, go ahead and use a paddle brush or your fingertips to create an off-center parting. Or, simply flip the hair over to one side with your fingertips and let it fall naturally into place.
Part Your Hair Before Styling
This may sound like an obvious tip, but it’s worth mentioning just in case. If you’re going to switch things up from a center to a side part (and plan on heat styling your locks) make the parting first.
This is especially important for curled or blowdried locks but applies to straight hair too. If you blow dry your locks in a center parting and then try to move it to the center, the style will sit differently, naturally falling back to where it was.
The same applies to straightened and heat-curled hair so it’s always best to save this part to last.
